Capsicum Besan Dry

Capsicum Besan Dry 





Though this lovely veggie needs no introduction but as everyone has a different way of making it what makes it yummy and a must try.
Plus when you only have 😻Capsicum available in your refrigerator 😍make this delicious capsicum besan dry. The sweet and sour lovely veg to go with rotis.

Preparation Time : 10 Minutes 
Cooking Time : 20 Minutes 
Serves : 3 

Ingredients : 
  • 2-3 large green Capsicum/ Simla Mirch 
  • 1 cup Besan or Gram flour 
  • 4-5 tsp of Oil (add more as required) 
  • 1/2 tsp of  turmeric powder 
  • 1 tsp of red chili powder 
  • 1 tsp of coriander cumin powder
  • salt to taste 
  • 1 tsp of sugar 
  • 1/2 lemon to squeeze 
  • 1 tsp of mustard seeds 

How to prepare :  


  • Wash the capsicum and cut them into big square pieces and remove the seeds.
  • Keep Besan / Gram flour ready. 
  • Heat 2 tsp of oil in a kadhai or nonstick pan and add asafeotida and mustard seeds 
  • Once the seeds splutter add capsisum and fry them on a medium high flame for a minute. 
  • Add pinch of salt and cover the lid and let it get cooked for another minute 
  • Now Add besan to it and saute. Mix capsicum and besan nicely. 
  • Add salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriandercumin powder, 1 tsp of oil and mix everything nicely and cover the lid.
  • Let the besan cook nicely. This process may take 8 to 10 minutes. Put the flame on medium low. 
  • Open the lid and add tsp of sugar, 1 tsp of oil again and lime juice. 
  • Mix again and cover it for another 2 to 3 minutes. 
  • Your Capsicum Besan Dry sabzi is ready. 
  • Serve hot or pack them in your lunch boxes. Yum !
  • Serve with rotis, parathas or bhakris.
