Methi Thepla

Preparation Time : 15  minutes 
Cooking Time : 20-25 minutes 
Serves             : 4 

Ingredients : 

1/2 bunch of methi leaves 
1 cup of wheat flour (you may also add gram flour and pearl millet) 
1/3 tsp of carrom seeds (optional) 
1/3 tsp of sesame seeds 
1/2 cup of curd (optional) 
1/2 lemon 
salt to taste 
1/2 cup jaggery water
1/2 tsp of turmeric powder 
1/2 tsp of coriander powder
1/2 tsp of red chili powder 
2 tsp of oil 

How to prepare : 

- Clean the methi leaves and cut them in small pieces 
- Soak them in water for sometimes and then place them in colander and wash them thoroughly 
- In a large bowl take methi leaves, oil, salt, carrom seeds, sesame seeds, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder,  squeeze lemon and mix it well and let the mixture rest for 5 minutes. 
- Add dough to the mixture and knead a dough with jaggery water. 
- Add curd or you can also add plain water
- If require add a tsp of oil or water as required. 
- Once the dough is formed divide them in 8-10 equal balls and roll them them with rolling pin.
Heat a nonstick pan or a tawa and place the thepla on it. 

Flip the thepla once it is done on one side , apply ghee and cook on the other side too. 


Serve it with curd / tea / pickles or potato sabzi.
