Tawa Pulao

Preparation Time : 15 minutes 
Cooking Time       : 30-minutes 
Serving                : 2 

Ingredients : 
  • 1 cup of Cooked Basmati Rice 
  • 2 medium potatoes diced 
  • 1 green bell pepper diced 
  • 1/2 tomato diced 
  • 1 medium onion diced 
  • 1 cup of carrot and green peas 
  • 2 green chilies 
  • 1 tsp of pav bhaji masala or garam masala 
  • 1 tsp of kashmiri red chili powder 
  • salt to taste 
  • 2 tsp of butter 
  • 1 tsp of oil 
  • pinch of turmeric powder (optional) 
  • few drops of lemon juice 
How to prepare : 
  • Cook Rice and remove it in a colander to remove the water and let it cool. 
  • In a nonstick flat pan add two spoons of butter
  • Add green chilies and onions and saute on a medium high flame 
  • Once the onions turn pink add potatoes, carrots , green peas, salt , turmeric powder and saute again till the vegetables are cooked. 
  • Put the flame on medium high so that vegetables dont leave much water. 
  • You may also boil the potatoes, carrots,peas and then saute them in butter. 
  • Remove the sauted vegetables in a bowl. 
  • Add oil in the same pan and once the oil is hot enough add pav bhaji masala or garam masala and kashmiri red chili powder. 
  • Add green bell pepper and tomatoes and saute on a medium high flame for a minute 
  • Add the sauted vegetables (potatoes, green peas , carrots) to bellpepper and tomatoes and mix everything nicely. 
  • Add cooked rice to the vegetables and mix upside down so the color of the masalas and vegetables and rice are mixed well. 
  • Sqeeze few drops of lemon juice. 
  • Taste the salt if you feel it is less add as per your taste. 
  • If you like it more spicy then you may also add pav bhaji masala and red chili powder to the rice. 
  • For this heat 1 spoon of oil and once it is hot add pav bhaji masala and chili powder and then add it to pulao and mix again for the rich red colour and spicy hot taste. 
  • Serve it with Curd / Cucumber / Raitas
