Moong Sabzi or Mag nu shaak (Gujrati recipe)

Preparation Time ; 10 minutes
Cooking Time      : 30 minutes
Serves                  : 2- 4

Ingredients :

1 cup of moong beans (Whole green gram)
pinch of asafoetida
1/2 tsp of oil
1/2 tsp of cumin seeds
1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
1/2 tsp of red chili powder
1/2 tsp of coriander powder
2 cups of water to pressure cook moong beans
salt to taste
few curry leaves (optional)
1/2 tsp of jaggery or sugar

How to prepare :

Pressure cook moong beans with 2 cups of water for 2 whistles
In a pan add oil and cumin seeds.
once the seeds splutter add pinch of asafoetida and curry leaves
Add moong beans and with that add all indian spices , salt and jaggery or sugar
Add abou 1/2 cup of water and mix everything nicely with spatula
Cover the lid for 5 minutes and serve.

You can serve it with Poha / Khakras / Rotis / Bhakris / Rice
