Ingredients :
1 cup of soaked flattened rice (poha)
2 large boiled potatoes
1 medium onion diced
salt to taste
1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
1/2 tsp of red chili powder
1/2 tsp of sugar
1/2 lemon to sqeeze
2 tsp of oil to fry (shallow fry)
2 green chilis cut into small pieces
1 tsp of ginger garlic paste (optional)
For binding use either one of the following (besan, semolina, corn flakes, breadcrumbs, corn flour). I have used bread crumbs and besan both.
How to prepare :
In a mixing bowl add boiled potatoes, soaked poha, diced onion and mix both nicely.
Add Salt, turmeric powder, chili pwder, sugar, lemon juice , green chilies, ginger garlic paste and mix everything nicely.
Tast the mixture at this point and if you feel adjust the spices and salt acccording to your taste.
Heat a nonstick flat bottom pan , brush the pan with some oil.
Form a flat round pattie and coat it with either breadcrumbs or semolina or cornflour or besan or crushed cornflakes and put them on a oiled pan.
Cook the pattie from both the sides till it is golden brown.
Serve them with chutney or ketchup
