Gobi ki sabzi or kobi nu shaak

Cabbage is a vegetable which is found in daily cooking tiffin vegetable or for a weekly lunch or dinner. This vegetable surely tops the list of daily cooking. 

Lets see the simple, quick way to cook it ! 

Preparation Time : 10 minutes 
Cooking Time      : 10 minutes 
Serves                  ; 2 to 4 

Ingredients : 

2 cups of shredded cabbage or half cabbage from the one full 
2 tsp of oil 
1/2 tsp of mustard seeds 
pinch of asafoetida 
1/2 tsp of turmeric powder 
1/2 tsp of red chilli powder 
1/2 tsp of corriander powder 
1 tsp of jaggery (optional) 
salt to taste 


How to prepare : 

Wash the shredded cabbage and heat oil in a pan or a wok 
Once the oil is hot enough add asafoetida and mustard seeds 
Once the seeds splutter add cabbage , salt and cover it with a lid on a medium flame for 8-10 minutes 
Open the lid and saute it once and add turmeric, chilli, coriander powder,jaggery  and saute again and cover it for 2 more minutes till all the masalas and jaggery is mixed well. 
As cabbage do not take much time to cook the total time can vary on the flame you put. I prefer to cook it on medium high flame so it does not leave much water. 
Serve it with rotis, parathas, bhakris. 
This is an excellent lunch recipe for daily tiffins.
