Stuffed Mirchi Bhajiya

Super windy or rainy day !! 

What clicks your mind is having a cup of hot tea alongwith bhajiyas... Here is a mirchi bhajiya with a twist ! 


Preparation Time    : 15 minutes 
Cooking Time          : 15 minutes 
Serves                    : 2 


Ingredients : 
  • 2-3 big peppers or mirchi or marcha 
  • 2 cups of gram flour 
  • 1 lemon or 2 tsp of lemon juice 
  • 1 tsp of turmeric powder 
  • 1tsp of red chilli powder 
  • 1 tsp of coriander cummin powder 
  • 1/2 tsp of carrom seeds 
  • 1/2 tsp of baking soda 
  • salt to taste 
  • sugar to taste 
  • water for the batter 
  • oil to fry bhajiyas 

How to prepare : 

For Stuffing ; 

- In a mixinng bowl add 1 cup of gram flour, add salt, sugar,, add 1/2 tsp each of turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder , 1/2 tsp of carom seeds , 1 tsp of oil and mix everything nicely and keep aside. 
- Wash and wipe the peppers (mirchi) and cut it from between with a knife and remove the seeds from the mirchi (as show in the pictures) 
- With the help of a spoon add the besan stuffing in the mirchi. 
- This way keep adding the stuffing to rest of the mirchis and keep aside. 
- Heat enough oil in a pan for frying. 

For the bhajiya batter : 

- in a mixing bowl add 1 cup of besan flour (gram flour) 
- Add salt, 1/2 tsp of each turmeric powder, chili powder, coriander powder and baking soda, 1/2 tsp of oil, 1/2 cup of water or a little more (please note that the batter should be too watery nor to thick). 
- Rest the batter for 5 minutes 
- Add stuffed mirchi (coat it with batter) and once the oil is hot fry the mirchi bhajiyas. 

Have the delicious bhajiyas with ketchups, chutneys, tea, cofee. Yum !
