Aloo Simla Dry Subzi (tififn recipe)

Pepper Potato Side Dish

Color color, which color do you want :) 

Peppers ! Mix Veg ! One more colourful platter (side dish) 

Ingredients :


  • 1/2 tbsp of salt 
  • 1/2 tbsp of sugar 
  • 1 tbsp of oil 
  • 1 tbsp of cumin seeds 
  • 1/2 tsp of asafetida 
  • 1/2 tsp of black pepper powder 
  • 1 tsp of lemon juice 
  • 2 medium size potatoes diced 
  • 1/2 tbsp of red chili powder
  • 1/2 tbsp of turmeric powder 
  • 1/2 tbsp of coriander cumin powder 
  • 2 cups of diced bell peppers (Any two colors or all) 

How to prepare ; 

  • Wash and dice the potatoes and peppers and keep them aside 
  • Heat oil in a nonstick pan or kadhai and add asafetida and cumin seeds. 
  • Once the seeds splutter add potatoes and fry them till they are little golden brown in color 
  • Add little salt and saute
  • Add bell peppers and saute again till they are cooked well (it wont take more then 10 mins) 
  • Add red chili powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, black pepper powder, lemon juice , sugar, salt and saute. 
  • Cover and cook for 5 more minutes 
  • Ready to serve. 
  • Goes well with Rotis or even as a side dish (sabzi).
