Rice Pakoras on Skewers

This was one of the Potluck recipe i just made. Thought of something innovative and came up with having Paneer and Pakodas or skewers.

It looks so colourful and drooling





Ingredients :

For Pakodas : 

  • Cooked rice 2 cups 
  • 1/2 cup besan (gram flour) 
  • 3 tbsp of yogurt ( sour curd) 
  • 1 tbsp of red chili powder 
  • 1/2 tbsp of coriander cumin powder 
  • 1 tsp of turmeric powder 
  • 1/2 lemon to squeeze 
  • 1/2 cup of semolinna (rava)
  • 2-3 green chilis 
  • salt to taste 
  • 1 tsp of sugar (optional) 
  • Oil to deep fry pakodas 
  • some ginger paste (optional) 

For Paneer Tikka :

  • 1 tbsp of besan or corn flour or corn starch 
  • 10 to 12 cube chunk of paneer or 200 gms paneer 
  • to marinate (curd, garam masala, coriander cumin powder, red chili powde) and some orange color (optional) 
  • salt 
  • Oil to Pan fry 


For Decoration :

Coloured Bell Peppers (Capsicum - All Colours) or any 2 colours 

How to prepare Pakodas :
  • In a mixing bowl add rice, curd, besan , rava, all masalas, salt, sugar, lemon to squeeze green chilis and mix everything nicely. Please make sure you dont add much curd otherwise it may start getting loose. 
  • Heat oil and deep fry the pakodas and keep them 
  • aside 
How to prepare Paneer Tikka for Skewer : 
  • In a mixing bowl add curd,curd, salt, garam masala, coriander cumin powder, red chili powder and some orange color (optional) and keep them aside to marinate for atleast 1 hour or put them overnight in the refiregerator 
  • Coat them with besan or Corn Starch or Corn Flour by adding 1 tbsp water into it and pan fry them. 
  • Cut the bell peppers or capsicum into square pieces... You may choose to leave them without frying and use them as salad on skewer. 
Skewer Stick Preparation : 

  • Soak the stick in water for 20 minutes and then dry it. 
  • Add two different colour piece of bell pepper 
  • Add Paneer Tikka
  • Add Pakodas 
You may arrange it as per your way and serve them with chutneys , ketchups or have it just as it is. 

You may add more veggies like potatoes, cucumber, zuccini of your choice and make it more colourful and tasty.. 


note : these are not grilled but fried
